I'm back. Opening Day on Friday (weather permitting). Baseball all weekend. Jenny in Santa Barbara on Monday. Going to meet a Rilo Kiley fanatic. Jenny again with Bright Eyes in Pomona on Wednesday. Going to create a new Jenny fanatic.
I am reading Wild Child: And Other Stories by T.C. Boyle, the first fiction I've picked up in a long, long time. "La Conchita" is wonderful. It's a story that asks why am I here? Who am I? What is inside of me? Who can I be? What do I get out of it? I'm just happy to be reading something that is close to what I want to write. I do not have the skills for something like this, but maybe someday after writing my face off I might.
